I'm hapis Jacobson I'm one of the founders of a Swedish company called tat which stands for the astonishing tribe it's a 150 people company in Sweden Korea and the US what what we started doing in 2002 was that we saw that a lot of device manufacturers had the problem that they they got color screens big color screens and screens used to be text displays and the hardware

in the phones were not capable enough to draw the graphics so we provide them with software that allowed them to draw that graphics and that software our product is now in 350 million phones the whole point with it is to allow people to produce any kind of device to present their information easily on screens the people who go to school today educated when they finish school the

jobs they were educated for don't exist anymore and the jobs they will have they were not the jobs they wanted for education so I think that's I mean I think that we have to they're really going to be a new way of looking at people people who can cope with change and people who don't can cope with change and I think that just as there was this

digital divide between people I think we used to say that there was a divide between people who were digital Natives and digital sort of foreigners and I think there's more going to be about people who can handle change and not change um because I think it's no longer about understanding technology it's about coping with change and it might be technological change but I think also it might

be about sociological change I think the last three years I think that I've been saying constantly to people that I think there's more Innovation now than ever and I think I said that three years ago and I think I said it last year and I mean you constantly say that and I think that's it's incredible to see how much fast everything moves the problem is you can't

keep up with it anymore if you're not attending so you have to attend it really feels like a new world and I think that it's it it's almost I think it's kind of scary I I felt it myself when I felt old actually when second life was introduced and I couldn't understand why people would do it and at the same time a lot of people did it

and when those things happen I think then you understand that one day I will also build and not understand why people love all these things that are doing and I think they're always I mean they're all these new things coming out and I think that you realize that you're no longer 20 when you look upon new technology with skepticism I see a future what actually some people

want to step up step off step off the technology Carousel actually that some people would like to go back and remove a lot of technology in their lives but I think it's going to be difficult for them I think that there are a lot of gadgets around and I think the important thing is to to make sure that things are useful for people and they actually provide

real values

Xavier Faltot

////// Xavier Faltot is a multimedia producer based in Berlin. For more than twenty years he has moved through radio, image and the web as a media mutant: he started out alongside artist Shu Lea Cheang, founded the Parisian web radio Radiomarais and spent some fifteen years running cultural venues such as la Station and le Consulat, blending art, technology, cinema and poetry. A pioneer of creative uses of the web, he now builds images, voices and custom instruments with artificial intelligence, such as TEXT OPERATOR and La Carte des fuites, designed to write Maison Fluid, his treatise on fluid parenting, out on 25 July 2027.
