my name is Adam uh I'm the CEO of a company called auditude uh I've I live in San Francisco in Palo Alto and um I came from a background of both technology and also media so uh I was at Google for uh a couple of years and working in technology and I also worked uh at MTV networks and at NBC so I brought to auditude which you'll

see you know what we do uh a sense of both the content world and also the technology World um the traditional model of media is called one to many it means I create the content and I push it through the distribution to you it's one to many but what we're finding online is that doesn't scale there's no way for one person to have that breath of voice

to to reach that many people and instead platforms that scale are about many to many over time many many many people voting on an individual asset will find an equilibrium right so uh as an example I can show you um television shows individual moments that Spike that are important that viewers acknowledge but thousands and thousands of upload occurred and yet one was the one that everybody went

to see um I don't I'm not sure I would call that reactionary I would call that um I would call that you know again to coin a silly phrase the wisdom of the crowds I think ultimately um the more people voting on something and and working with something the better answer you'll get uh video is going to emerge more and more on the web with more and

more people participating it's going to be a form of communication and uh that will will start to exceed in fact what is happening on in text alone uh and as you can see with the consumer Behavior we're going to see more and more so us our kids uh are going to be consuming video online rather than just reading text in a very very large scale I believe

that uh what most people view as chaos is actually organizable

Xavier Faltot

////// Xavier Faltot is a multimedia producer based in Berlin. For more than twenty years he has moved through radio, image and the web as a media mutant: he started out alongside artist Shu Lea Cheang, founded the Parisian web radio Radiomarais and spent some fifteen years running cultural venues such as la Station and le Consulat, blending art, technology, cinema and poetry. A pioneer of creative uses of the web, he now builds images, voices and custom instruments with artificial intelligence, such as TEXT OPERATOR and La Carte des fuites, designed to write Maison Fluid, his treatise on fluid parenting, out on 25 July 2027.
