so my name is uh Chan Kim during the daytime I work at Google uh during the night time I'm I'm writing blog and uh try to organize conference I am here because um I got invited as a uh blogger um something called Web 20 Asia and also um I started a conference called open web Asia last year so I just tried to cover the uh you know

Korean uh you know techno technosphere you know like know what's happening in the Korean IT industry in the web industry uh in English because uh there's not many you know english-based blogs about you know Korean or Asian um you know it or web stuff so that's what I'm trying to do it's really amazing if you look at the population of you know like you know China and

and it's really the urbanization is really going on so um if you draw a circle around let's say so there's like 100 cities that has more than 1 million people so if you draw a circle like you know within like uh some kilometers uh there's like 100 cities with u you know at least 1 million people and uh they're getting connected so if you look at the

numbers it's really you know Asia is really you know Rising very fast um so at some point uh I would say you know I mean there will be a lot more content just because of the population you know I mean a lot more content in in in Asia than uh in other countries right now it's pretty much mixed so there's a lot of American culture for example

among the Korean uh you know generation also you know Japan as well I I would assume but also the other half is really the local you know content and uh uh uh and uh among the countries like you know Korea China Japan um there will be a lot of mixed culture you know opportunities so for example um you used to be like uh many Korean or Chinese

guys I don't know about China but many Korean people were into the Japanese uh culture before like animation stuff like that and then now uh the Korean content is pretty popular in um other parts of Asia so in that in that way um I think you know people in Asia will probably you know discover uh the culture of other countries like you know China Chinese people discovering

like you know Korean content Korean people discovering Chinese content this way so I think there will be a lot more um you know cross Know Country activity within Asia in terms of U culture I see that in the future um more people will be uh integrating their online life into their offline life so for example there will be a lot of a uh augmented reality or you

know virtual real reality really affecting your offline life knowledge knowledge and information it's getting cheaper and cheaper but wisdom is getting harder and harder to find so yeah that's my thinking

Xavier Faltot

////// Xavier Faltot is a multimedia producer based in Berlin. For more than twenty years he has moved through radio, image and the web as a media mutant: he started out alongside artist Shu Lea Cheang, founded the Parisian web radio Radiomarais and spent some fifteen years running cultural venues such as la Station and le Consulat, blending art, technology, cinema and poetry. A pioneer of creative uses of the web, he now builds images, voices and custom instruments with artificial intelligence, such as TEXT OPERATOR and La Carte des fuites, designed to write Maison Fluid, his treatise on fluid parenting, out on 25 July 2027.
