David I'm a representative of IBM employees in Italy and I'm here because uh we organized the first V strike in the world in Second Life it was an idea starting from uh from some employees and uh we understood that in a important moment for the Italian war council it was very very important to give um a strong strong action against the company just to to say that
the employees have some rights to Def to be defended and we started to think about innov Innovative actions possible to to improve the union strategy so we create something like a tax force a international team of people that was um supporting us in this strike and in 20 days uh we organized this this demonstration so the the results of this virtual strike is that we obtain for
the first time I think in the world a real uh solution for the employees we are really building a collective intelligence as you said and this is U changing our world is the the starting point for a new Union worldwide so a new way to to spoke with employees in many companies and a new way to think about unionist action so we'll probably work again on Second
Life we'll start many projects related to new uh Technologies used for defend uh employees rights in all companies our slogan is uh think globally but act locally so we cannot have problems only in Italy only in France only in Germany because the problem are really the same we're speaking about Outsourcing speak about jobs that are moved out outside Europe so we have the real same problems and
so we have to approach the problem in a common way so we are trying to to find the real Innovation also not only for the company for the money for the profit but also for the employees for for a better life for a better salary and so I see that uh we are building a real world in the future that will be uh better for the employees
and better for uh also all the people not only for money but for human rights and labor rights I don't know maybe Innovation is the right thing the right word and I think it's it's like a a starting point for uh for our future
