Politics is broken and we can do it better. We can do it better. There's a better way. My name is Brett Henig. I'm Brett Henig. I'm from the Sautician Foundation which is based in the UK but I live in Budapest. The Sautician Foundation uh which I co-founded uh is now delivering civic lotteryies which is about randomly selecting a representative sample of people so that they can deliberate
on everyone's behalf about uh political topics diversity inclusion participation deliberation quality one is uh equality in theory one person, one vote or whatever that is and one is uh popular control. The public is ultimately in control of the laws that are made etc. We want to transform democracy. We want to change the way democracy is done. We want to make people aware that there are better alternative
methods of uh doing democracy using random selection, sort deliberation. uh that you can get to the considered informed will of the people in a much better way than you can by using elections. There will have been a massive democratic transformation probably beginning in Europe in Western Europe, France, Belgium, the Netherlands. They'll have instituted sorts and people will be staring at these uh bicameal systems and looking at
an elected chamber and a sort chamber and be starting to wonder why we actually even need the elected chamber. I think our political system is more or less captured uh by powerful vested interests by distorted by the media etc. So um changing the system won't be easy uh this is for sure.
